Outdoor Classes

For children aged 1-4 years with their parent/caregiver
This is a celebration of Winter to create community and prevent cabin fever. Each class will include a walk or exploration in the farm or forest and an opportunity for informal conversation as well as a chance to share the joys and challenges of the week. Children and parents may work together preparing snacks, enagging in seasonal activities and gathering nature treasures. There will be a warming shelter and/or fire. Children will engage in joyful free play, seasonal circles and a puppet show. Parents and caregivers will learn songs, lullabies, and games to share at home as well as parenting meditations and observations. Discussion topics may include the importance of daily rhythms, the child’s senses, self- initiated play, warmth and movement in the young child’s development, and the role of imitation in learning.
