Indoor and Outdoor Classes

In this class parents and caregivers will learn about the Waldorf and Pickler philosophies of caring for their child and discover new ways to nourish their young child’s development. Outdoor classes will start with a walk or exploration in the forest and garden and an opportunity for informal conversation as well as a chance to share the joys and challenges of the week. Depending on the seasons, children and parents may work together, preparing snacks, gardening, and gathering nature treasures. In colder weather there will be a warming shelter and/or fire. Indoor classes will begin with child-led play and observation. Children may engage in seasonal circles and a puppet show. Parents and caregivers will learn songs, lullabies, and games to share at home as well as parenting meditations and observations.  Discussion topics may include the importance of daily rhythms, the child’s senses, self- initiated play, warmth and movement in the young child’s development, and the role of imitation in learning. Capacity: 8 families

Siblings are welcome. Infants may attend free of charge. Siblings and twins who are walking will receive 20% off tuition.
